The number after the word Super , and before the 'S', represents the fineness of pure wool fabric used; that is the length of the thread that can be woven from one kilogram of wool. Super 180's: in 1 kg of non-woven wool are 180 km of yarn. The higher the "super" number, the more wool yarn is fine, so we will have softer fabric.
The finer a fibre is, the more it will gain in softness: the unit of measurement that determines the fineness of a fibre is the micron (one thousandth of a millimetre) and the average value for extra-fine merino wool is 19.5 microns. The yarn used for this garment is made from a wool 14.5 microns finer than cashmere.
